Amend the Constitution against babies?

So now Governor Herbert, the So Carolina Senator and others have joined the cry to amend the Constitution to bar US born children from citizenship – I guess unless their parents are citizens.? What a tiny portion of the flood of Latinos they so much fear this would affect. Couple that with the tremendously difficult task of amending: they would strain at gnat to swallow a camel.

Supposedly, crowds of pregnant women are swimming the Rio Grande to have their babies here. Poppycock! Blow away the smoke and there might be as many as a few hundred a year. This campaign against newborns sounds a lot like the haves against the have nots. No more “Give me your tired, your poor . . . .”

  1. Makes for good(?) political copy I suppose.

    Might this be the Savior's feelings about this amendment?
    3 Ne. 21:12 And my people who are a remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles, yea, in the midst of them as a alion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep, who, if he go through both treadeth down and teareth in pieces, and none can deliver.
    14 Yea, wo be unto the Gentiles except they repent; for it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Father, that I will cut off thy horses out of the midst of thee, and I will destroy thy chariots;

    Maybe we should pass an amendment requiring all gentiles to repent...

  2. I loved what was said about Al Gore's position on birth control while he fathered four (maybe more?) children: "More of us, less of them." I think that pretty well summarizes the position of most of the left-leaning population control Communists out there, as well as the right wing anti-immigration Fascists. When are we going to remember that this country thrives the most when we have a steady stream of immigrants who have come here seeking a more stable government, a quality public education, the freedom to achieve, and a Constitution that actually works? By the way, I also agree that we Gentiles should repent.
